One of the perennial requests is the connection of the University of Patras with the city. And what is one of the most lively “pieces” of the city? But of course the Patrino Carnival! And what is the best way to make that connection?
You guessed very well, as something like this is expected to happen soon, with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between KEDIP – Carnival of Patras and the University of Patras, which is expected to happen on November 18.
In fact, as the president of KEDIP Pavlos Skouras informed us, this cooperation will also be seen in practice, as in the plans it is in the next organization of the Patrinos Carnival, that the University will participate with its own float, which will be flanked by students. “We are not talking about a group, but about a part of the city. The float will be dedicated to the University and will of course be flanked by students,” he noted.
As Mr. Skouras pointed out, the students of the University of Patras are a huge asset for the Patron Carnival. “We want it to participate in the city, for the Carnival to have contact with the University. The aim of signing the memorandum of cooperation is to highlight its dynamics” he said and continued: “We have already started through Welcome to UP and we are continuing slowly with small steps”. After all, as he pointed out: “Young people are an upheaval as is Carnival and we must see them as our allies”.
At the same time, there are several ideas on how to continue this cooperation. One of them is the realization of a carnival model exhibition in the Kolla building, always in collaboration with the University of Patras, while it is expected that we will have more news in the future!

**Interview with Dr. Maria Rossi, Head of U-Connection at Colegiodante**
**Editor:** Good morning, Dr. Rossi! Thank you for joining us today. Can you tell us about the U-Connection initiative and its importance for students seeking degrees abroad?
**Dr. Rossi:** Good morning! Thank you for having me. U-Connection is a pivotal area within our institution designed specifically to support students who are interested in pursuing their degrees overseas. We understand that studying abroad is a significant step in a student’s academic journey, and U-Connection provides the resources, guidance, and support they need to navigate this process.
**Editor:** What kind of services does U-Connection offer to students?
**Dr. Rossi:** We offer a variety of services, including personalized counseling, assistance with application processes, and guidance on choosing the right university and program abroad. Additionally, we provide information on scholarships, visa regulations, and cultural adjustments—ensuring that students are well-prepared for their experience.
**Editor:** That sounds comprehensive! How has the response been from students regarding this initiative?
**Dr. Rossi:** The response has been overwhelmingly positive. Many students appreciate having a dedicated team to help them make informed decisions about their futures. We’ve seen a significant increase in the number of students seeking degrees abroad since the launch of U-Connection, which indicates that our support is making a difference.
**Editor:** Are there any particular challenges that students face when looking to study internationally?
**Dr. Rossi:** Yes, absolutely. Students often encounter challenges such as understanding the application processes of different countries, financial planning, and even adapting to new cultures. Our goal at U-Connection is to mitigate these challenges by providing clear guidance and resources to help them feel confident about their choices.
**Editor:** what advice would you give to students who are considering studying abroad?
**Dr. Rossi:** My advice would be to start early and do thorough research. There are numerous opportunities out there, but it’s important to find the right fit for you.
