The participants in the 23rd Arab Region Conference for Girl Guides, hosted by the Emirates Girl Guides Association and organized by the Arab Region for Girl Guides at the conclusion of its work in Abu Dhabi, yesterday evening, Thursday, expressed their thanks and great appreciation to Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the General Women’s Union, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation, Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, “First Leader” and Honorary President of the Emirates Girl Guides Association, for the patronage of Her Highness and her unlimited support for the conference, which started from the sixth to the ninth of this month.
The last sessions of the conference were held at the Abu Dhabi Heritage Hotel, in the presence of Maryam Muhammad Al Rumaithi, Vice President of the Emirates Girl Guides Association, members of the Association’s Board of Directors, Dr. Libya Al-Subai, President of the Region in the previous session that ended in Abu Dhabi, and the heads and members of the countries participating in the conference. The first session of the conference witnessed the completion of the elections Membership of the Arab Committee for Girl Guides; The results resulted in the victory of the leader Sarah Hammoud, president of the Arab Region for Girl Guides, and the leader, Dr. Amal Al-Maslamani, as vice president, and the membership of each of the leaders Amani Al-Jabri, Ghufran bin Hamed, Mona Amin, Rehana Khaiter, the reserve leader Dr. Libya Al-Sabi’, and the leader Maryam Issa.
During the last sessions, several topics regarding networking, partnerships, and the market for ideas were discussed. The initiatives of the World Assembly were reviewed through the regional roundtable. The session also witnessed an evaluation of the work of the conference. In the evening, a closing ceremony was organized for the conference. The partners, supporters and organizers were honored.
At the ceremony, Maryam Al Rumaithi, Vice President of the Emirates Girl Guides Association, gave a speech in which she pointed out the importance of the conference that was held in the UAE and in the capital, Abu Dhabi; She said that the conference represented a good opportunity to meet, exchange views, and consult on visions and experiences for each of our countries participating in this blessed regional gathering. On behalf of the participants in the conference, I extended my thanks, great appreciation and gratitude to the sponsor of the conference, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, who, with her generous support, provided the most beautiful opportunity to meet and work together following a long interruption as a result of the circumstances that dominated the world following the Corona pandemic. I also extended my thanks and appreciation to the leader, Dr. Libya Ahmed Al-Subai, for her efforts, and the wonderful model she and her team provided for joint Arab action during her previous presidency of the region. On the other hand, she congratulated the members of the Arab Committee who were elected to lead the next phase of the region’s work. She also thanked the Vice-President of the World Council of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. And all the employees of the World Assembly for their efforts in support of the success of the event, in addition to the heads and members of the delegations of the associations of the countries participating in the conference for their attendance and active participation in the sessions and activities of the conference, wishing them more success and success.
She expressed her pride, pride, and great appreciation for the team of the Emirates Girl Guides Association, and the Family Development Foundation, led by leader Dr. Huda Al Matrooshi, adding her appreciation to the sponsors and strategic partners who support the work of the conference, and especially thanks and appreciation to the Private Business Department of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Abu Dhabi Media Company, the media partner of the conference, and all Governmental and private agencies and institutions.
Leader Libya Al-Sabi’ gave a speech in which she thanked and appreciated the sponsor of the conference, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the Emirates, noting the importance of holding this conference, which came following a period of absence as a result of the global health crisis following the Covid-19 pandemic.
Leader Jane O’Shea, Vice President of the World Council of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, said in her speech that concluded the conference: “I would like to extend my deep thanks to Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, for the warm reception and hospitality we received, and we thank the UAE for ensuring our safety by providing the environment and the place We thank the UAE and great support for the work of the conference, which was a good opportunity for consultation and cooperation for a better future for Girl Guides and to address the challenges that faced work following Covid-19. At the end of the ceremony, all partners, supporters and work teams supervising the conference were honored, and shields and souvenirs were exchanged between the participating delegations.
