The Paris Air Show, which opens its doors this Monday, June 19, near Paris, will be able to testify to the fact that the air sector has never been in better shape. Emmanuel Macron announced a series of aids to develop low-carbon aircraft. Order books are full, air traffic has returned to pre-pandemic levels.
Last week, Emmanuel Macron announced the deployment of several hundred million euros for the low-carbon aircraft program to be launched before the end of the five-year term. To ensure the ecological transition, the sector will recruit with a vengeance. 25,000 new jobs is the goal for 2023, an increase of more than 30% over one year. An unprecedented dynamic driven by the resumption of air traffic faster than expected, but also by the needs of companies to renew their fleet for more fuel-efficient aircraft.
“We need all profiles”
The increase in military activity also has something to do with the record Rafale orders. The needs concern all trades in the sector, explains Philippe Dujarric, the director of social affairs at Gifas. “Design office, production, maintenance, support profession and the needs are everywhere in France. Aeronautics is not a field reserved for engineers”, declared the director of social affairs of the Groupement des industries françaises aeronautiques and spatial.
“We need all profiles and even if we are far from aeronautics by our initial training, all applications can interest us since we have training that allows all levels to integrate the sector”, he added.
At the Paris Air Show, there will be two highlights. This Monday, the animation “the plane of the trades”, will allow in particular the youngest to meet employees of the sector. And then, from Friday, the “Aero recruits” operation in partnership with Employment center where 10,000 offers are expected.
