The pandemic has cost the German economy 330 billion euros

Over the past two years, the Covid-19 pandemic has cost the German economy 330 billion euros, according to calculations by the economic research institute Ifo.

Europe’s biggest economy has shrunk instead of growing by 1.3% each year.

Ifo Director General Clemens Fuest speaks of the “worst global economic crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930s”.
