The Palestinian President visits Egypt to meet Sisi and discuss ways to stop the war

The Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Egypt, Diab Al-Louh, said that Abbas will arrive in Egypt, on Sunday, on an official visit that will last for two days, in response to the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, to participate in the opening session of the World Urban Forum.

The Palestinian ambassador explained that the State of Palestine will participate in the forum’s activities with several ministerial and technical delegations. Due to the importance of devoting the presence of the State of Palestine to this global forum in its twelfth session.

Ambassador Al-Louh added that the two presidents are scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting during the visit to exchange opinions, enhance joint cooperation, and consult on all current developments in Palestine, the region, and the world.

He stressed that the top priorities of the meeting are to discuss ways to make the efforts of Egypt and other partners successful to stop the war of genocide against the Palestinian people, protect them, provide relief, and rebuild what was destroyed by the ongoing war on the Palestinian people, and mobilize all efforts; To end the Israeli occupation of the land of Palestine, and establish an independent, fully sovereign, geographically contiguous and viable State of Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital.

Two delegations from the Palestinian faction movement had gone to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, to hold discussions on an Egyptian proposal to administer the Gaza Strip in the next stage and proposals for negotiations to stop the war in the Gaza Strip.

The two delegations are scheduled to hold a series of meetings, starting on Saturday, in the presence of Egyptian mediators. The Hamas delegation is headed by Khalil al-Hayya, a member of the movement’s political bureau, while the Fatah delegation is headed by Mahmoud al-Aloul, deputy head of the movement. The Hamas delegation will also meet with an official Egyptian delegation to discuss special proposals. Negotiations to stop the war in the Gaza Strip and exchange prisoners with Israel.
