The Indiana Pacers and Quebec’s Bennedict Mathurin narrowly defeated the Chicago Bulls 125-122 on Sunday at the United Center.
It took a downtown shot from Tyrese Haliburton with 2.7 seconds left in regulation to give the Pacers the win. The latter also had an excellent game, amassing 29 points, three rebounds and 11 assists.
Mathurin was the team’s second-best scorer, scoring 17 points. The Montreal-raised also had four rebounds and three assists in 34 minutes of play.
At the Bulls, Zach LaVine sounded the charge with a harvest of 42 points. However, he missed a free throw that would have given Illinois the lead just before Haliburton’s big win.
Mathurin and the Pacers will be back in action on Monday night, hosting the Philadelphia 76ers at Bakers Life Fieldhouse.
