In absolute figures, it is however among the 25-35 year olds that we find the highest number of flexi-jobs, specifies Acerta.
According to the company, in the sectors where the mechanism is authorised, 16% of the staff is now made up of flexi-job workers. The catering sector, for which the concept of flexi-job was initially created, remains in the lead, with 21.4% of workers currently working there under this flexible status.
“The latest figures speak for themselves: where flexi-jobs are already possible, companies are taking full advantage of them. As the federal government has expanded the number of sectors offering flexi-jobs, we can expect new records in this area in 2023”, comments Amandine Boseret, legal expert at Acerta Consult.
“In the traditional sectors where flexi-job workers are employed (hotels and restaurants, retail, bakeries, department stores, etc.), we also see that the proportion is increasing year on year. For companies, flexi- job is a way to solve the complex equation between supply and demand on the Belgian labor market. And for the workers, it is an interesting way to earn some extra money”, adds she.
