Al-Marsad newspaper: The outbreak of “Mycoplasma” disease in China early last month raised fears of a recurrence of the Corona pandemic crisis that swept the world and caused the death of millions of people.

There is also a noticeable return, following an absence, of a bacteria known as Mycoplasma pneumoniae (Mycoplasma), which causes acute respiratory infections, especially in children, in Asia and Europe.

While some scientists believed that the outbreak of this bacteria was caused by the repercussions of stopping the application of distancing and protection measures once morest the Covid pandemic.

Professor Jack Mukhbat, a specialist in bacterial diseases, told Sky News Arabia, “Mycoplasma is not new. It is an old bacteria whose symptoms usually appear in children in the winter and spring.”

Mukhbat reassured that there is no need to worry regarding this bacteria, which is currently spreading in several countries, most notably China and the European Union. He said: “The matter is normal and does not require concern as long as treatment is available.”

Mukhbat pointed out that these bacteria “appear in the form of infections in the sinuses or in the lungs, and their treatment is available in all countries and is very easy, and it cannot be said that it is a frightening epidemic.”
