The Oriental Regional Council signs two agreements to strengthen cultural structures and create training centers

Oujda – The headquarters of the Oriental Regional Council (CRO) in Oujda hosted, on Friday, the signing ceremony of two agreements with the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, with the aim of strengthening the structures culture, diversify the cultural offer and create training centers for girls and women, youth centers and summering centers in the region.

According to a statement from the CRO, these two important conventions were signed by the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, the President of the CRO, Abdenbi Bioui, the wali of the Oriental region, governor of the prefecture of Oujda-Angad, Mouad El Jamai and the director general of the Oriental Agency, Mohamed Mbarki, in the presence of the vice-presidents and members of the Council and heads of decentralized services.

The agreement relating to the strengthening of cultural structures and the diversification of the cultural offer in the Oriental region, at a cost of 380 million dirhams (MDH), relates to the creation and equipment of new cultural establishments, the renovation and upgrading of other cultural establishments in the region, the maintenance and restoration of archaeological and historical sites and monuments, the making of the inventory and the protection of intangible cultural heritage, in addition to the encouragement of cultural and artistic creation and the support and development of cultural and creative industries in the region.

As regards the agreement relating to the creation of training centers for girls and women, youth centers and summering centers in the Oriental region, for an overall envelope of 120 MDH, it aims to strengthening the infrastructures of the municipalities concerned by new training centers for girls and women in the areas covered by the ministry, with a view to boosting the creativity of women and girls and facilitating their inclusion in the economic fabric and their financial empowerment at through the creation of cooperatives.

This agreement also plans to ensure the reception of young people in establishments rich in cultural, social and sporting activities, to encourage young people to practice sport, to fight once morest the problems and negative phenomena observed among young people in the and create a cultural escape for young people, in addition to ensuring the reception of children in holiday camp centers and carrying out various cultural, social and sporting activities.

In addition, the press release reports that the president of the CRO welcomed, during a meeting held earlier in the day at the headquarters of the wilaya of Oriental, in the presence of the minister, all the efforts made with the aim of to accumulate more achievements and achievements to promote the cultural landscape and youth issues at the regional level.

Mr. Bioui also praised the efforts made by the authorities of the wilaya of the Oriental in terms of support and cooperation in order to achieve the objectives of common institutional advocacy in all areas.

After recalling the great cultural event that marked the capital of the Oriental, namely the event “Oujda capital of Arab culture – 2018”, he reviewed several activities, programs and large-scale cultural and artistic events organized with the support of the CRO.

These include, among other things, the development and construction of spaces for the memory of the resistance and the liberation army in the various provinces of the region, and the project carried out in partnership with the region of Grand-Est (France) to carry out an inventory of tangible and intangible heritage and proceed with its development.

Mr. Bioui also highlighted the support given to international cultural and film festivals, the Maghreb Book Fair and the Jerada mining museum project, the contribution to the development of the Hassania school in Figuig, the creation of centers training and cultural activities across the region in partnership with the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, and other centers for the training and integration of young people, alongside other important cultural projects and support for construction of local sports grounds in all the provinces of the region.

On the other hand, the president of the CRO called for consultation to develop a participatory vision for the promotion of the cultural field and give culture its rightful place as an essential driver of development and the main vector for strengthening the mechanisms decentralized international cooperation.

The CRO is concerned with upgrading and strengthening infrastructures related to culture and youth, developing integrated and participatory plans to promote the cultural landscape of the region, opening up to digital and virtual domains to support digital transformation. , and rehabilitate and restore ancient fabrics, such as kasbahs, ksours and historical monuments, said Mr. Bioui.

Similarly, the Regional Council intervenes for the diversification of the forms and areas of organization of fairs and artistic and cultural events, the enhancement of the material and immaterial heritage of the Oriental, the establishment of the foundations of the cultural industry , support for film production in the region, adherence to the world of knowledge and communication and the development of cultural production.

Mr. Bioui reaffirmed, on this occasion, the commitment of the CRO in the territorial implementation of the various programs and sectoral strategies and the support for all the innovative initiatives which contribute to the development of the region.
