The new maximum price of heating oil amounts to 1.1046 euros per liter, for an order of at least 2,000 liters, announced this Friday the Federal Public Service Economy. Currently, it is still 1.39 euros per liter, a record.

The maximum price for orders of less than 2,000 liters will fall to 1.1352 euros per liter on Saturday, also a decrease of more than 28 cents.

Heating diesel has become more expensive since the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24th. The maximum prices have been above 1 euro per liter since the beginning of March.

The drop announced on Friday is explained by the automatic activation of a federal device linked to the market price. There is no political agreement yet for action on soaring fuel prices and it is not expected until next week.
