The government of Pedro Sanchez and the Portuguese of António Costa have achieved that the European Council authorize the so-called ‘Iberian exception’ to achieve a reduction in the energy bill.

The effects of this pact could begin to be noticed in the pockets of the Spanish and the Portuguese in less than a month, according to the president of the Spanish Executive this Friday.

The opposition has shown this Saturday its doubts and its rejection of this announcement by Sánchez to solve the problem with the increases in the price of electricity in statements made at the act of the Association of Victims of Terrorism (AVT).

“It will be necessary to value if it obtains it. We Spaniards are already fed up with ads“, declared José Luis Martínez-Almeida, the mayor of Madrid, in addition to criticizing that he carried out “exercises of triumphalismand if it is good, as he defends, that he materialize it as soon as possible”.

The politician of PP has pointed out that “If he had lowered taxes 10 days ago, he would not be in this situation”which he considers to be “the shortest, simplest and most direct way” also for the problems with carriers.

Edmundo Bal, from Ciudadanos, has also joined the declarations against this initiative, assuring that it is “Pedro Sanchez milongas” and calling the deal a “bluff.”

“And now he comes yesterday from the European Council and tells us that he has achieved the gold and the Moor. Don’t fool us with the ‘Iberian exception’, don’t treat us like idiots“, declared the deputy secretary general of Ciudadanos.

Macarena Olonadeputy for Vox, considers that the announcement of the ‘Iberian exception’ is about “a new act of propaganda”arguing that the solution is for the Government to “lower taxes once and for all, because the Spanish can no longer deal with this fiscal hell”.

Olona criticizes that Pedro Sánchez did not adopt the pertinent measures to reduce the price of electricity when the European Commission allowed it on March 8, declaring that he did not do so “because he didn’t feel like it”as Citizens and PP have also reproached.
