The Sulzbacher car dealership at the Trauner crossing is one of the largest vehicle competence centers in the central area. A new milestone was set with the new Opel Astra, which was voted Germany’s “Car of the Year” in 2023. The unrivaled electric version of the classic, which has been delighting people for six vehicle generations and 30 years, will follow in spring 2023.
“The Opel Astra distinguishes itself in its segment as a true all-rounder that impresses in all areas. Incidentally, this also applies to design and driving pleasure, where it clearly distanced itself from the competing models,” says Jens Meiners from the German “Car of the Year” jury.
A classic that inspires generations
The new Opel Astra is a timeless success story – and already the sixth, completely newly developed version of the compact class bestseller in its 30-year history. With a power range from 110 to 225 hp, it leaves nothing to be desired. State-of-the-art assistance systems such as front collision warning with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition or drowsiness detection are standard on board.
Tidy interior
In the interior, all analog displays disappear with the fully digital Pure Panel. Instead, there’s a completely new human-machine interface with an intuitive user experience. Similar to a smartphone, an extra-wide touchscreen is used for this purpose. All the necessary information is displayed, but not burdened with superfluous data. Important settings such as air conditioning can still be selected directly with just a few controls.
And now: the new Astra Electric!
“Lightning strikes the golf course” was the headline in the German Autozeitung regarding Opel’s latest hit – and this headline gets right to the point: the compact class in the electric range has never been more exciting, snappier and modern.
Opel intends to exclusively offer electric vehicles from 2028, the Astra Electric is another milestone, combining bold and clear design with the latest technology and a powerful 100% fully electric motor. The new Opel Astra Electric will be available from spring 2023 as a sporty 5-door and from autumn 2023 also as a versatile Sports Tourer. CO2 emission? Zero! The battery capacity of 54 kWh brings a range of up to 416 kilometers.
refueling? A brisk affair: following 30 minutes of charging, the batteries are 80 percent charged. 115 kW (156 hp) of power bring a top speed of 170 km/h – that is up to 30 km/h more than with comparable models. The new Astra Electric can be ordered from spring 2023.
