Commuters and inhabitants of several municipalities in Walloon and Flemish Brabant will have to change their habits: the chaussée de la Hulpe-chaussée de Bruxelles (the name changes on both sides of the linguistic border) will be under construction for the construction of the ” cycle route F205″, a vast cycle path on its own, one of the missing links to reach the capital by bike.
The work to create the track has already started but did not yet impose the closure in one direction of the road. But, from this Monday, September 26 and until the end of 2022, the chaussée de La Hulpe/de Bruxelles – which runs along the park of the Château de La Hulpe in particular – will be made one-way from around the Groenendaal station: the direction from Brussels to La Hulpe will be closed; only traffic from La Hulpe to Brussels will be authorized.
Commuters returning from Brussels will therefore have to adapt their routes. Several diversions are advised, depending on the final destination. To reach the surroundings of Hoeilaart, it will now be necessary, when leaving the Ring, to go through the chaussée de Groenendaal. On the other hand, to reach La Hulpe from Brussels, it is advisable to stay in the ring until Waterloo (exit 26, Mont Saint-Jean), and then take the Chaussée de Louvain for six kilometres… Or, another alternative : go through the E411, and exit at Maleizen (Overijse).
