It is now concrete. A few months ago we already announced here that Samsung is increasingly actively communicating on OLED screens; as we recently saw at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2023) in Barcelona. The new Samsung televisions are now available for pre-order in Switzerland.
Among the range of new 2023 televisions, we find in particular the Neo QLED 8K and 4K as well as two OLED series. To make the TV experience more sustainable, 2023 TVs come with the handy SolarCell remote control, which is made from recycled marine plastic and no longer requires batteries, according to the display giant.
OLED et Quantum Dots
Let’s see what Samsung says regarding its OLED series. The 2023 series build on the strengths of OLED technology and combine them with Quantum Dots. Viewers thus benefit from deep blacks, immaculate whites and vibrant colors in all their nuances. Performance in terms of brightness and colorimetry has also been improved compared to previous models.
“Thanks to the Neural Quantum Processor, combined with AI-driven upscaling technology, you get lifelike brightness, color, contrast and detail. The OLED series also emphasizes aesthetics by adopting the Infinity One design for the S95C and the Laser Slim design for the S90C, and offering Dolby Atmos sound.
Also a question of price…
“This series has a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. For the first time, Samsung OLED televisions are certified AMD FreeSync Premium Pro compatible, underlines the manufacturer, which also reveals the price list below. We understand better why he has defended LCD technologies so much so far.
In fact, by observing the rates charged, we see that a TV Neo QLED 8K of 55 inches sells from 2999 francs, a Neo QLED 4K of the same size is negotiated from 1999 francs, while the basic price of a model of similar size, but of technology OLED by Samsung, was set at 2699 francs. The consumer risks losing his Latin: all these technologies, these definitions, not to mention the EU which indirectly pushes 8K into the nettles…
For the record, Samsung has been creeping into the OLED market for just over a year. Behind the scenes, its experts explain that only technologies from the LCD family have a real future, while on the stands, we see various OLED screens appearing, a technology that the electronics giant reserved until recently for its smartphones, unlike to Panasonic, Philips, Sony and especially LG, which produces them for multiple brands!
