The inauguration of this 163rd edition of “the oldest and largest fair in Belgium”, according to the City of Liège, will take place at 3:00 p.m. with a procession centered around the giants Tchantchès and Nanesse, characters from Liège folklore.
Thrill seekers will not be left out with 160 attractions spread all along the boulevard. The endless construction of the tram, which should start running in 2025, will however give rise to some adaptations in the layout of the Fair.
“This joyful and popular festival, which is one of the oldest Belgian events of its kind, also counts in the local economic landscape thanks to the significant spin-offs it generates with more than a million visitors,” praises the City of Liège in a press release. .
From Saturday until its departure, the Fair will open at 3:30 p.m., except on Wednesdays, weekends and public holidays when the opening will be brought forward to 2:00 p.m. Two days at reduced rates are planned, October 26 and November 12.
Secure and free bicycle parking will be available at the nearby Waha Athenaeum from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. during the seven weekends of the event.
