Intermezzo – artists in conversation

Rudolf Buchbinder in conversation

In the “Intermezzo” the Austrian star pianist and director of the Grafenegg Festival Rudolf Buchbinder is a Alex Reed. He will soon be releasing a new CD entitled “Soirée de Vienne” – with Johann Strauss paraphrases and a prominent selection of pieces by Schubert, Chopin and Beethoven. The latter once enjoyed the aforementioned piano soirées, in which he engaged in musical duels with colleagues at the piano. The master of Viennese classicism is of course also the subject of a conversation with the world-renowned Beethoven specialist Buchbinder, as the pianist has realized several sensational projects around the Beethoven year 2020. In addition, Buchbinder explains how great knowledge of music history affects the interpretation and why he has even improved technically with age.
