The Old Country will have a Czech dubbing » Vortex

At the very end of the Opening Night Live presentation, a new game from the Mafia series was introduced, which is called Mafia: The Old Country (the Czech description on Steam indicates Mafia: Domovina). We were treated to a short teaser trailer, a short annotation, but shortly afterwards also the launch of the page on Steam, which brings other interesting information. For example, the fact that we can look forward to the Czech dubbing, which will undoubtedly be an important part for many players here, and that it will be released in 2025. However, the first supply of information does not end there, even if we should learn more in December.

Some earlier speculations have been confirmed, as we are indeed going back in time before the events of the first part, but we are also going back to the homeland of organized crime and the mafia as such, i.e. Sicily. “Discover the origins of organized crime in Mafia: Homeland in a gritty story from the world of gangs that takes place in the brutal underworld of Sicily at the beginning of the 20th century,” reads the official Czech annotation. In this dangerous and unrelenting time, we will fight for survival and will embark on an action that will be surrounded by a rich story, which we are used to from the previous games of the series. However, it is not yet clear who will be the protagonist of the game. Recall that speculations in the past mentioned that it should be a young Salieri, but it is not possible to judge this from the short teaser trailer.

“In the first three installments of the Mafia series, we introduced players to the world of the mafia through gritty stories set in different eras. In Mafia: The Old Country, we return to the roots of what fans love about the series, creating a deep, linear story with the feel of a classic mafia movie, visiting stunning new environments, all in a tight, concentrated package that’s perfect for fans of immersive experiences,” said Hangar 13 President Nick Baynes about the game. Regarding the series as such, 2K adds that since the release of the first game Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven in 2002, it has sold over 34 million copies across PC and consoles.

Mafia: The Old Country is headed to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series, and is slated to release next year, specifically Take-Two Interactive’s 2026 fiscal year, which means the game should be released after April 1, 2025. And as already mentioned, it should also arrive with a Czech dubbing.
