Despite a turbulent past year with geopolitical tensions, high interest rates and persistently high inflation, Frauscher Sensortechnik was able to record record values. The company from St. Marienkirchen reached an all-time high in terms of both sales and incoming orders. Frauscher is the world market leader in sensor technology for the railway industry and the largest provider of axle counting solutions.
In order to be able to maintain this level in the long term, ten percent of total sales will be invested in research, digitalization and technology at the location in Austria. In addition, staff in this area will also be increased. “In addition to investments in the software area, this year we invested more heavily in expanded test environments directly at the St. Marienkirchen location.
This is a further step towards automating product testing, which will enormously increase both quality and efficiency,” says Melanie Kleinpötzl, head of digitalization at Frauscher.
This should make it possible to bring new products onto the market even faster and with higher quality. The expansion and use of artificial intelligence in all areas of the company should also make a significant contribution to this. Frauscher is currently researching a new generation of sensors, its own “FrauscherGPT” and other applications of artificial intelligence as well as cloud-based diagnostic products to ensure smooth rail operations.
