Red Dead Redemption 2 concurrent players on Steam recently hit a new all-time high of 66,539 players. This is an amazing development considering the fact that the game was released on the platform just over three years ago.
Looking at the stats in SteamDB, you’ll notice that the number of concurrent players has been pretty stable for a while now. Since RDR2 is a huge game with a lot of story and things to do, players who started the game weeks or even months ago are probably still enjoying the open world experience that the game offers.
If we look at the number of concurrent players since the release of RDR2, the game has actually fared quite well in the second half of 2022, with the most recent peak occurring more recently.
One possible reason for this surge is the sell-off. RDR2 was one of many popular titles that received a massive 67% off during the Steam Winter Sale 2022.
The game also sold very well throughout 2022, according to Steam. The RDR2 website lists it as one of the best platform games in terms of sales, while it is at the gold level. For reference, Steam ranked games by tier from Platinum to Bronze, with Gold being the second highest tier.
