The number of monkeypox cases in Israel has reached a total of 101, following the detection of 35 new cases over the past week, Israel’s Health Ministry said in a statement on Monday.
The ministry said it has ordered more than 10,000 doses of a vaccine produced by Danish manufacturer Bavarian Nordic, of which 2,000 doses are to be delivered without delay and the rest in the coming weeks.
These vaccines will initially be provided to the at-risk population through Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO) clinics across the country, the ministry added.
The ministry once more advised its nationals to seek medical attention if they develop a fever or blistering rash or if they have been in close contact with someone suspected of being infected with the virus.
