The Nothing brand has publicly acknowledged that its second smartphone, the Nothing phone (2), will be launched this summer 2023, without specifying the date. She takes the opportunity to raise the suspense on the novelties of her next model.
Before and after its release, the Nothing phone (1) had a lot of people talking about it, between mysteries, innovations and originality. As its first year of existence approaches, we knew that Nothing was going to launch a Nothing phone (2), without knowing exactly when. This is no longer really the case: this smartphone will be presented this summer.
A presentation this summer: what the photo tells us
It is on Twitter that we can read that the Nothing phone (2) will arrive in the summer of 2023, and that it will be “ Premium “. That’s all the ad says, at least, explicitly. Indeed, this tweet is accompanied by a three-second video in which we see pieces of metal or white plastic, as well as a flashing red diode.

While what distinguished the Nothing phone (1) was its famous Glyph, its system of white LEDs that can be used to highlight notifications or the level of charge, we do not know what its successor has in store. That’s where that red diode can give us clues. It could also indicate the arrival of notifications. But everything leads us to believe that it is a different form of the luminous recording witness found on the Nothing phone (1). By comparing the flashing rate of the two diodes, we realize that that of the phone (2) is faster than its predecessor.
On the Nothing website page dedicated to the launch, by opening the displayed image in a new tab, we can learn more, as the image is larger. We see in particular a sort of switch with two positions.
It could be a working button, but the odds are very low. Indeed, the first Nothing phone of the name also had an element that made one think of a slider of the same type, but which was located at the bottom and which was not usable. If the red recording indicator that we see will have the same position as that of last year, then the part represented is in fact the top left corner of the smartphone. A theory also believed by specialist influencer Ben Geskin, who posted a GIF superimposing this image on the phone (1).

Placing a button there would be very strange. In addition, the Nothing phone (1) has a glass on the back that covers the entire face and this could be the case on the phone (2) elsewhere.
On the grainy part, at the top left of the Nothing video, there is a slight circular recess, without being able to identify its usefulness. The same goes for the different parts that we guess are made of plastic.
