That’s it, the Nothing phone (1) is officially only a few weeks away from its official launch. The new company from Carl Pei’s team has finally announced following a long teasing the date of its presentation of its very first smartphone which will take place on July 12 at 5 p.m. French time. Information around this transparent smartphone had already begun to circulate. Here is a news today which now concerns an important feature, namely the charging of the phone.

45 W fast charging for a mid-range smartphone

We learn through 91Mobiles and Sudhanshu Ambhore’s Twitter account that a TUV certification for a Nothing brand charger has emerged. Three model numbers can be seen there which are C304, C347 and C348, which would mean that Nothing would internally prepare three versions of its loader for its global launch. The power supply is indicated there as being able to support a load of 45 W, which sets it apart from some high-end Android smartphones which do not yet all offer consistent charging speeds. The speed of recharging is more of an asset than mid-range smartphones will have today.

We are therefore slowly beginning to see the outlines of this future smartphone since we had also been able to take note of what might probably be its technical sheet. This smartphone would have a screen Full HD de 6,55 pouces “chinless” (6.43 inches according to other sources) with 90Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 700 series chip, likely Snapdragon 778G (although Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 might also be an option) paired at 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.

We would also have a triple camera of 50 + 8 + 2 Mpx, a front camera of 32 Mpx and a 4500 mAh battery with wireless charging that we might therefore recharge at 45 W by wire.

An aesthetically coherent range of products

But nothing is certain for the moment. The smartphone would run at launch under Android 12 with NothingOS and its launcher, made available recently. The last thing we don’t have any information on yet is its design.

We might see some design guidelines with an aesthetic on the back that is said to be notably inspired by the 1972 New York subway map created by Massimo Vignelli and Bob Noorda. Its design should be consistent with the brand’s other product: Nothing ear (1). According to current rumors, this smartphone would finally be launched on July 21 at a price of around 500 euros.
