The Nokia XR20 is dead after the termination of cooperation with Zeiss-ePrice.HK

When feature phones were still the mainstream in the market, whenever Nokia’s mobile phones were equipped with the PureView camera in cooperation with ZEISS, it was almost equal to the guarantee of mobile phone photography. Although HMD soon announced its cooperation with ZEISS following obtaining authorization to launch Nokia mobile phones, the shooting function of the cooperation between the two parties has been unable to challenge competitors.

Cooperation results are not as good as before

Whether it is the original Nokia 8, or even the Nokia 9 PureView that uses the PureView brand once more, the imaging effect is not top-notch, at least it fails to attract consumers. The latest news means that the partnership between Nokia and ZEISS has come to an end, and the website NokiaMob found that on ZEISS’s official website, Nokia Mobile is no longer one of the partners, leaving only two companies, Sony and Vivo.

Both parties agree to no longer cooperate

A few days ago, ZEISS confirmed in response to media inquiries that they and HMD Global have decided not to continue their partnership in 2021 with mutual consent, including cooperation in imaging technology for Nokia smartphones, and ZEISS as a consultant and development partner. The Nokia XR20 released at the end of October last year was the last product to be branded with the ZEISS brand, and the last product to be advertised as PureView was the Nokia 8.3 5G, both of which had average shooting performance.
