published Giza On her official Facebook page, a rare picture of the Nile waters embracing the pyramids was published in 1902 AD.

The governorate clarified the details of the photo, noting that the exact location of the photo is in front of Al-Arish Street, and the island visible in the midst of the flood waters from afar near the pyramids is the island of Kom Al-Akhdar.

It is worth noting that one of the studies published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences revealed that when the ancient Egyptians built Giza Pyramids About 4,500 years ago, the Nile River was close to the pyramids and the Nile was present with high water levels that helped workers transport materials to their construction site.

The study relies that the previous archaeological and historical discoveries that the Nile had an additional arm flowing through the pyramids came following analyzing ancient pollen samples taken from the soil.
