THE.NIGHT: Smudo and Eva Mattes as guests on “Welcome Austria”

2024-10-31 12:39:00

Vienna (OTS) –

Musically, “DIE.NACHT” starts on November 5th, 2024, when Stermann and Grissemann appear on “Willkommen Österreich” at 10 p.m. on ORF 1 and on ORF ON Smudo and Eva Mattes (also in “Ungeschminkt” on November 13th on ORF 2 as well 24 hours in advance on ORF ON). “If you don’t know anything, you have to believe everything” is the motto again at 11 p.m. when the “Science Busters” return with a new season and start off with “primordial soup and crisis beer”. “DIE.NACHT” ends musically at 11:30 p.m. when Austrofred dreams for one night with “Heast Bruckner” on the occasion of the composer’s 200th birthday that he himself was Anton Bruckner.

Welcome Austria with Stermann & Grissemann” (at 10 p.m. on ORF 1 and from 8 p.m. on ORF ON)

The longplayers of German hip-hop, the Fantastischen Vier, are celebrating the release of their eleventh album. “Long Player” was released in October and is being celebrated by the legendary band with a tour of the same name. In the “Welcome Austria” talk, Smudo has the honorable role of representing Germany’s most famous rap act. He chats with Stermann and Grissemann about the band’s 36-year history, German hip-hop and, last but not least, the Fanta 4 concert in the Wiener Stadthalle on December 20th, which is eagerly awaited by fans.

Eva Mattes is also well versed in music, and this year she will be on stage with her “Deutsche Winterreise”. Since 1966, she has appeared in over 200 films, TV productions and theater productions and is known to a wide audience in the role of “Tatort” detective Klara Blum and as the voice of Pippi Longstocking, among others. The talk with Stermann and Grissemann is about her life in the spotlight, the agony of choosing between a concert, theater, film or audio book and how she will celebrate her 70th birthday in December.

“Science Busters – If you know nothing, you have to believe everything” (11 p.m.)

At the start at the University of Graz, they serve “Ursuppe & Crisis Beer” as their signature dish and Master of Ceremony Martin Puntigam, astronomer Florian Freistetter and molecular biologist Martin Moder are looking for answers to the following questions: How did life originate? When did he first start sleeping through the night? And: Is the Lord Austrian? Also: DIY amino acids.

“Heast Bruckner” (11.30 p.m.)

As an Upper Austrian in the Bruckner year, Austrofred identified himself so much with the annual regent that he spent one night dreaming that he himself was Anton Bruckner. As a Bruckner, he meets the Lord God in heaven and asks the Lord God to finally allow him to see the Großglockner from below. The Lord only reluctantly agrees and warns the composer about the Bruckner year: he will be recognized everywhere. The Lord also demands something in return from Bruckner: Bruckner should bring him contemporary music from his short trip around the world. Because the Lord’s record collection only goes as far as Van Halen. For one day, Austrofred, as Bruckner, experiences a wild arrival in the world. First at his organ in Sankt Florian. And finally he found unexpected companions for his Glockner tour in Gustav Mahler and Franz Liszt. With: Peter Hörmanseder, Ankathie Koi, Dominika Meindl, Maximilian Steiner and Norbert Trawöger
