Mrs. Sow Moussa Yéro Bah, president of the NGO F2DHG

“When we found out the number of cases in our country, in September 2020, a total of 30,216 confirmed cases of Covid-19 were declared, we realized that we are not on the sidelines of what is happening. passes through the world. Arrangements had to be made. The fight was led through the WHO to make vaccines available to be able to fight once morest COVID-19. The Guinean government has set itself the goal of vaccinating 20% of the population aged 18 and over by the end of 2021. And we noticed that the situation was not at all easy. We have experienced cases of reluctance in our country, including protests that have led to loss of life on the side of Coyah. The people did not understand. It therefore pushed us to set up and work on this project, ”she explained.

Speaking in detail regarding the objectives of the project and the expected results, Moussa Yéro Bah made the following clarifications: “Our overall objective is to contribute to the vaccination of vulnerable people through awareness raising. The main expected result of this overall objective is that vulnerable people are informed and accept vaccination and respect for barrier gestures once morest the pandemic. We also have specific objectives related to the project. The first is to set up and train a team of facilitators for the local awareness of vulnerable people regarding Covid-19. Secondly, identify and sensitize vulnerable people in the project areas for their vaccination once morest Covid-19 and respect for barrier gestures…”.

Abdourahme Diawara, President of the GAPAF NGO

For his part, Abdourahmane Diawara, president of the NGO GAPAF, returned to the actions to be carried out and the duration of the project. “This project essentially aims to raise public awareness with a view to their adherence and effective involvement in the vaccination program in our country. To do this, it will be carried out for 12 months through panels, TV and radio broadcasts, local awareness campaigns and educational talks both in Conakry and within the country,” said Mr. Diawara. .

Abdourahmane Diallo, representative of OSIWA

For his part, Abdourahmane Diallo, OSIWA representative at this ceremony, welcomed the partnership between the actors involved in the fight once morest covid-19. “This is not the first partnership that the two structures F2DHG and GAPAF have benefited from OSIWA, it is the second funding. So, that’s to say that the partnership is getting stronger. This is a very important topic that brings us together here today. This is funding that will enable activities to be carried out whether in Conakry or in the regions. This is substantial funding in relation to the planned activities. It is to tell the population to agree to be vaccinated because that is what will make it possible to immunize and reduce cases of contamination,” he underlined.

Dr Camara, Human Resources Manager at ANSS

According to Dr. Camara, Human Resources Manager of the National Health Security Agency (ANSS), vaccination has contributed to the drop in the rate of contamination in Guinea. “Among the measures, vaccination has proven to be the most effective activity. To date, we have recorded 36,789 confirmed cases of covid-19, including 442 hospital deaths, 338 community deaths. That is a hospital lethality of 1.2%. At the same time, 3 million 639 thousand 262 people were vaccinated. Of which, 1 million 681 thousand 860 received their second dose. Collective immunity has thus improved. Similarly, the positivity rate of diagnostic rates fell from 28% to 0.5%. Allow me here for the occasion to express my deep gratitude to all our technical and financial partners. Your project would undoubtedly reinforce this situation. Because the success of any vaccination campaign depends on the degree of mobilization and support of the population. The project therefore comes at the right time and is in line with the strategies for combating and responding to covid-19”, suggested Dr Camara.
