The NFL regular season hasn’t even started yet, but a catch-of-the-year candidate has already emerged. Nathaniel “Tank” Dell of the Houston Texans outdid himself on Thursday night.
During a preseason game that the Texas representatives won 20-9 over the New England Patriots, the third-round pick in the most recent draft had quite a play in the second quarter.

At the goal gate, quarterback Davis Mills fired a pass to Dell, who had positioned himself near the pay zone line. The receiver dived for the ball, but the object eluded him. Before he hit the ground, the 23-year-old was able to wedge him between his knee and his right hand to finally secure him.
This touchdown allowed the Texans to take the lead and not look back followingwards.
Dell will try to make his place in the NFL following five seasons in the NCAA, with three different universities. It was with the Houston Cougars that he enjoyed his most success, being included on the AAC Division Team of the Year in 2021 and 2022.
