The Sony brand has just formalized its new high-end smartphone, the Xperia 1 V. It seems that the successor to the very high-end Xperia Pro-I is being prepared, but it would not be available before the start of the next year with new sensors.
The Japanese brand Sony has just officially presented its new Xperia 1 V mobile phone. It replaces the Xperia 1 IV and is a top-of-the-range model. It is equipped with technologically advanced components to deliver exceptional performance and the most successful photos and videos possible. But the firm had proposed in 2021, the Xperia Pro-Ian even more successful version and taking advantage in particular of a 1 inch photo sensor as well as advanced features for creating videos and taking particularly advanced photos. According to several rumours, it looks like his successor is in the works.
Improved photo sensors for the Xperia Pro-II
Indeed, the first rumors regarding the Sony Xperia Pro-II are heard. They report the fact that it might benefit from an improved configuration of photo sensors. While the current Xperia Pro-I has three Sony Exmor RS sensors, one of which is 1 inch, its successor would carry three Exmor-T sensors. This will be a serious difference with the sensors available on the back of the Xperia Pro-I. THE Exmor-T sensors would offeraccording to Sony, noise and dynamic range performance equivalent to that offered by a full-frame camera. It is this type of sensor that has been integrated as the main module in the new Sony Xperia 1 V smartphone which will serve as a benchmark device for the brand’s next very high-end.
The Sony Xperia IV might therefore use a 1-inch Sony Exmor T main photo sensor. The other two sensors might also be Sony Exmor T models of a smaller sizethis time and which might manage photos in ultra wide-angle mode and allow to obtain an optical zoom (we can always hope).
For the moment, the information is still rather vague concerning the Sony Xperia Pro-II, but it is already rumored that it might be formalized in several months, not before the beginning of the year 2024, according to some rumors. By then, we will certainly have other sources.
