It has been predicted that Apple will release the 4th generation iPhone SE with its own 5G modem chip in 2025.
IT media MacRumors reported on the 12th (local time), citing a report by Jeff Fu, an analyst at Haitong International Securities in Hong Kong.
According to reports, the 5G modem chip designed by Apple itself will be manufactured by TSMC in Taiwan.
The report comes following Apple expert analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said two months ago that Apple had resumed development of the fourth-generation iPhone SE, featuring a 6.1-inch OLED display and a homegrown 5G modem chip. At the time, he predicted that Apple’s 5G modem chips would be produced on TSMC’s 4-nm process and only support sub-6GHz bands.
Ming-Chi Kuo said mass production of the 4th-generation iPhone SE would begin in the first half of 2024, and Qualcomm also predicted that Apple’s 5G modem would be released in 2024. However, this time, analyst Jeff Fu predicted that the release of the current fourth-generation iPhone SE would be delayed until 2025.

The currently available third-generation iPhone SE features a 4.7-inch screen with a home button and Touch ID, and is powered by Qualcomm’s custom Snapdragon X57 chip for sub-6GHz 5G. This product was launched in March 2022.
In the case of the 4th generation iPhone SE, it is expected to have a design similar to the iPhone 14 model, so it is expected that Face ID, not Touch ID, will be applied.
