The plane of this Belgian family was canceled this Friday evening in Stockholm following it was lightly hit by a freight vehicle. The family encounters, like other travellers, difficulties in returning to Belgium. “Our return trip to Belgium is possible via a 16-hour cruise,” Thijs Feryn told Nieuwblad.
Indeed, several Stockholm/Brussels flights have been canceled due to staff shortages: “The next flight we are offered is not before Friday July 15, in a week! “.
To return, Thijs found a trick: go to Helsinki by ferry to take the plane to Belgium. “It is a 16-hour cruise and in total it will cost us around 2,800 euros”. The family hopes to recover part of this amount via their American Express insurance and obtain a refund from Brussels Airlines.
