Change of strategy for Activision. After having opted for a communication that drags on, and revelations generally made during the summer, the American publisher has decided to give the first information concerning its next Call of Duty at the end of April. It is now confirmed, this new episode will be called Modern Warfare IIand should be released at the end of the year, barring last-minute delays.
We don’t know much more regarding this episode, Activision having only unveiled a logo and a short teaser while waiting to give us more information. However, we can very briefly see the logo of Task Force 141, this special elite unit already featured in… Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, released in 2009 and 2011 respectively.
It is not yet known when Activision will speak once more, but it is likely that it will not be during the Xbox conference on June 12 since the American publisher is still under contract with Sony on the marketing plan.
