The new video with hostages from Hamas, what the brother of one had said days ago – 2024-05-01 05:26:52

Hamas has released a new propaganda video showing signs of life for hostages Keith Siegel and Omri Miran, 64 and 46 respectively.

In the three-minute edited video, the hostage takers say they hope for a hostage deal that would see them and other hostages returned home. The video is undated, but Miran says he has been held captive for 202 days and Siegel talks regarding the holiday of Pesach, the Jewish Passover, indicating the footage was filmed recently.

Siegel, who also holds US citizenship, was abducted with his wife from their home in the Kfar Azza kibbutz in the October 7 terrorist attack. His wife Aviva Siegel was released as part of the November deal.

Keith Siegel’s brother, Lee, spoke last Saturday to ERTNews expressing the opinion that the hostage issue is constantly going backwards. “As long as we and they are striking and Iran and Hezbollah are involved in the conflict, the hostages remain in the tunnels and do not return,” he said.

Hamas has previously released similar videos of hostages it is holding in what Israel calls a sadistic psychological war. The Hostage and Missing Families Forum says the new sign of life is evidence of the need for the government “to do everything possible to approve an agreement for the return of the hostages before Independence Day, for the rehabilitation of the living and the dignified burial of the murdered”.
