In pictures: Guatemalan athletes’ new uniforms for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

This Wednesday, July 3rd The swearing-in ceremony for Guatemalan athletes who will compete in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games was held.
The Sports Palace, located in the zone 5 of the Capital City, the event was held where a total of 14 national athletesreceived from authorities of the National Sports System, as well as the president Bernardo Arevalothe honor of being sworn in as part of the official delegation that will represent the country of July 26th to August 11th in the French capital.
One of the things that caught the attention was that the uniform that the athletes will be wearing at the Opening Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games was made official; where Kevin Cordón and Waleska Soto were confirmed as flag bearers at the opening event.
The national fashion brand Jaspe By Vitto They were in charge of making the clothing that the national athletes will proudly present, this brand during 10 yearshas been presented on international platforms such as Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and catwalks such as the World Expo in Dubai; it has a mention in the prestigious magazine Vogue.
In 2023 the Ministry of Economy awarded him the badge White Sealwhich is awarded to Guatemalan companies that have high-quality products with export potential through a focus on social responsibility.
Attached to the Jaspe By Vitto publication, the origin of the costume design is explained: “The collection “Forests of Hope” is inspired by the name of our country, the feathers of the quetzal and the color of Guatemalan jade. The collection is composed of fresh fabrics as well as including the artistic work of Food MurgaCreative Director of the brand, in the intervention of hats, which recall the birds that inhabit the Guatemalan forests and the manual work of artisan communities of Salcaja, Quetzaltenango, Antigua Guatemala and Jocotan, Chiquimula.“
It also confirms that this collection was composed of the manual work of more than 20 people involved in the process.
