ADMIE inaugurated its new Educational Center in Peristeri. The opening event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy, Ms. Alexandra Sdoukou, the President and CEO of ADMIE, Mr. Manos Manousakis, the Deputy Mayor of Education of the Municipality of Peristeri, Mr. Anastasios Theodorakos, members of the Administration and executives of ADMIE, as well as the graduates of the first training program.
The Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy, Mrs Alexandra Sdoukou said: “The road to clean energy requires not only building infrastructure, but also investing in training the people who will actively support the universal transition by 2050.
The transformation of the energy system requires an urgent focus on upgrading the skills of tens of thousands of workers. This is what ADMIE is already doing, upgrading the skills of its employees, in order to implement the major projects that are “running”, as well as the new projects that are in the works.
With shortages of suitably qualified specialist staff expected over the next decade, I strongly believe that acquiring new qualifications can become a cornerstone in accelerating our clean energy transition.”
The President and CEO of ADMIE, Mr. Manos Manousakisin his speech stated the following: “The new Training Center will be the vehicle to transmit the know-how that exists from the older generations of workers to the new professionals of the industry.
The “explosion” of RES, combined with the significant expansion of the electrical system in recent years, have highlighted the lack of specialized personnel we need to implement these projects.
With the aim of developing the technical potential of Greece, we are in collaboration with the Ministry of Education in order to attract young people through technical schools, technical high schools and universities, offering structured educational programs.
The Education Director of ADMIE, Ms Flora Papadedesaid: “We believe that the establishment of the ADMIE Educational Center responds to the mature needs of maintaining and upgrading the high level of expertise that the Administrator has, contributing on the one hand to its development course and on the other hand to connecting technical vocational training with the real needs of the market in technical specialties”.
During the event, the first 18 graduates of the Center received their certifications, as they successfully completed the cycle of professional education and certified technical training.
The Education Center
The new Training Center of ADMIE opened its doors in September 2023 and in December it successfully completed the first training program for Transmission Line technicians, Substation and KYT technicians and Supervisor Operators.
In a specially designed building, with modern teaching aids and an electrical engineering laboratory, the technicians of Transmission Lines, the technicians of Substations / Ultra High Voltage Centers and the Operators – Supervisors of Substations / Ultra High Voltage Centers of the company, received all the necessary knowledge and technical skills, as well as the necessary certification in order to carry out their work safely.
The program of the Training Center includes theoretical training, laboratory training, practical exercises and training in the field. After completing the theoretical and practical training, the trainees acquire targeted technical expertise and the relevant certification.
