The new routes of the Suburban of Patras are moving in the direction of obsolescence

The Railway Association of Achaia, through its announcement, states the following:

Colleagues, Colleagues,

The policy which discredits and dismantles the railway continues unabated. Although the statements of the Government and the Administration of the OSE, plans and programs remained, nothing changed.

19 months after the crime in Tempe, the policy of liberalization-privatization, which is the real cause of the problems facing the Railway today, continues with greater intensity. The direct assignments to all kinds of contractors that have been plaguing the OSE for years now continue and we have seen the results and we see them more and more every day.

Today, less than 50% of the planned positions of the Organization Chart of the OSE are covered and of these, almost half are covered by Service Provision Bulletins (blocks) and by workers with Individual fixed-term contracts. Colleagues with this form of work are kept > with the threat of not renewing their contracts every six months. Especially the colleagues with IPD work without working rights (leaves, sickness, rest, nights, holidays, overtime etc.) and are not covered by the Collective Labor Agreement.

WE DEMAND the permanence of these colleagues as well as the Prisoners ID who have a fixed term contract

Colleagues, Colleagues,

The new routes of the Patras Suburban line are also moving in this direction of obsolescence, which as planned – after the reduction of the 400 meters of Line (before the European elections) – the response of the North and South branch is now at the Central Station of Patras and not at Agios Andreas station as it was before, they expelled a large part of the passenger public because it is no longer served. The citizens of Patras are protesting but without being heard.

The itineraries should not be drawn according to the convenience of the companies, but according to how you serve the passengers.

The maintenance contract for the Patras suburban railway is proceeding with >, with minimal underpaid workers and without the OSE having taken care of the supply of the necessary materials.

With proclamations and wishes, the train will not go to Pyrgos, nor to Nafplio, nor to Agia Lavra. Enough with the lies and >. We already learned them.

Really why isn’t the new train coming all the way to Rio which has secured funding and will serve thousands of passengers?

Who’s stopping them from getting there? Rio is a Municipality of Patreon.

Nothing has been done about the toothy one, who is supposedly being cut apart from their rambling statements. After last year’s fires, no work was done to maintain the slopes and prevent the Line from being clogged with dirt with the first rains, as a result of which the routes are interrupted every time.

The Peloponnese railwaymen will continue to fight for modern, safe and cheap railway transport.

We will continue to fight to keep the Suburban Railway of Patras open and safe and the sections of the Peloponnese that are still in operation (Diakofto-Kalavryta, Katakolo-Pyrgos-Ancient Olympia) as well as for the re-operation of all Lines that are suspended.

We will continue to fight for the recruitment of permanent staff in order to cover the positions provided for by the organizational chart and the permanence of contract holders.

We will continue to fight and demand the completion of infrastructure projects, electrification, signaling and installation of electronic safety systems in train traffic.

We will continue to fight for free collective labor agreements that will meet today’s living conditions.
