Two audiences were granted, on July 26, 2022, to the Primature, by the head of government, Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé. The first went to a delegation from the NGO IT VILLAGE, led by its chairman of the board of directors, Etienne Tawo Dable, who came to thank the Prime Minister for his support and support in carrying out the Braun Hospital project in Cinkassé. Ms Tomégah-Dogbé then conversed with the new Resident Director of GIZ in Togo, Dr Inge Baumgarten introduced by the German Ambassador to Togo, Matthias Veltin.
The Prime Minister, Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé exchanged with a delegation from the NGO IT VILLAGE. On leaving the hearing, the president of the NGO, Etienne Tawo Dable, explained that he was out of the country during the visit of the Prime Minister to the Braun hospital in Cinkassé and that it was therefore normal that he comes to greet her and show her his gratitude. ” I was in Germany at the time with my partners and so it is to come and show our gratitude, the recognition of the German donors, of the Braun family, of our partner organization DAZ, but also of the Board of Directors that I I have the honor to chair, to the Prime Minister who agreed to travel to Braun Cinkassé with a strong ministerial delegation. This honored us greatly and demonstrates, once once more, the commitment of the government by our side for this project. he pointed out. Mr. Etienne Tawo Dable specified that they benefited from a lot of support from the government, for the realization of this project which would not have been possible without it. “We have benefited from exemption from VAT and customs duty on all the equipment we bought to build and equip the hospital and which we are still continuing to equip, because it is a big project. We are only at square one and therefore we continue to think regarding investments ” he said. This project, said Mr. Dable, comes in support of the government’s program in terms of social inclusion, universal access to care for the population and that is why this hospital, located there, is a platform fairly high technical and biomedical. Today, this center has a scanner and we are preparing to acquire a second scanner, to guarantee the continuity of the radiology service with, among other things, a mammograph and other equipment. “This project was initiated to support the government’s health efforts in the region. The Prime Minister reiterated the availability of the government to continue to support our NGO on this project, but also on the other projects it is carrying out in the region in terms of social inclusion, in terms of training, creation of added value in the Savannah Region » he said.
The head of government then received the new resident director of GIZ, Dr Inge Baumgarten, introduced by the German ambassador to Togo, Mr Matthias Veltin. Ambassador Veltin indicated that it is a courtesy visit to introduce the new director of GIZ in Togo at the start of the mission. “The Prime Minister received the first visit from the new director Mrs. Baumgarten and as it is at the beginning of her stay, welcome her to Togo. She took the opportunity to give an overview of the principles of cooperation, but given the fact that Ms Baumgarten comes from Addis Ababa where she was responsible for our GIZ cooperation with the African Union, we went a little deeper into the regarding the free trade area in Africa,” he said. Mr. Veltin reassured on the excellent relations between Togo and GIZ and promised that this cooperation will continue on this good note..
