The first updates of the version 3.0 life cycle of Genshin Impact have added significant content to the large map, including the game’s fourth main region, Sumeru. Version 3.0 felt like a deep jump into the lush tropical forest, while 3.1 introduced the first section of sprawling desert. Soon, players will have the opportunity to further explore the desert of Sumeru with the next major map update for Genshin Impact.
HoYoVerse has yet to officially confirm Genshin Impact’s new wilderness, but various details have leaked. The expanded desert will have underground canyons similar to those in version 3.1, as well as a new world boss. The Sumeru region desert is rumored to be one of two expansions to the game’s great desert desert, the other addition coming with version 3.6. On the other hand, a recent leak showed the Genshin Impact map with the additions of the desert expansion in version 3.4.
The new desert section on the Genshin Impact map has been revealed
The Leaked image shows the full map of the new desert region of Sumeru, complete with names, waypoints, and domains. We can see that the map shows a wide region with a variety of geographical features and places of interest, such as some ancient ruins, a cave with a new adventure, and a new city to explore. The new region is centered around the massive Mount Damavand with the surrounding geography revolving around the center of the colossal mountain.
It has been suggested that the Sumeru Desert expansion is just one of several locations rumored to be added to the game in the near future.
