The adoptive family member is Spider (Jack Champion), a human boy who was abandoned on Pandora as a child, to whom the Sully children, and Kiri in particular, feel a special attachment.

Avatar: new decade, new cast

This new part of the cast, ranging from 13 to 22 years old, joined a team that has been working in Hollywood for years, many of them Oscar winners, such as Cameron, Kate Winslet y Sigourney Weaver.

Jack Championfor example, stated that just seeing the work of some of these actors was an unforgettable experience, beyond the advice they were given.

“I think with Sigourney and Stephen Lang, it was more than verbal advice, it was seeing how they acted. Straight from being themselves to being in character, as soon as they started shooting. It was inspiring to watch and you can learn a lot just by watching them”assured in conversation with BioBioChile.

At only 13 years old, Trinity Jo-Li Blissshared that experience, making everything even more special for her, because Avatar: The Way of Water it’s his first movie.

“They are masters of creation and absolutely professional. I remember some days when we had really intense scenes, and we mightn’t get to that area, I would see them and try to get to them,” the actress told BBCL.

“Just like Jack was saying, it wasn’t just advice, but watching them perform was a total learning experience and a really fun experience,” he added.

beyond the water

Despite their short careers, the actors had to undergo extensive preparation and complex moments.

Jack, who plays this human boy raised among the Na’vis, said that the hardest part for him was “Hold your breath in a giant tank of water.”

“It is very difficult. It’s not just holding your breath, you have to act, pretend you’re emotionally vulnerable or be like ‘I’m going to die, shit.’ They are very different performances,” she explained.

“Also, you have like 101 points, so you have to make sure that none of them (get out),” he said. “You have to be careful,” Trinity added.

“The tank days were a lot of fun for us, and many of the performances captured there had never been done before, so I can’t wait for everyone to see it. It’s mind blowing,” he said as well.

Seven minutes underwater?

An important part of the film, clearly, takes place in the water, when the Sully family seeks refuge in the tribe. And my mother. There everyone must learn to live with the sea as their main source of life and just like their characters, the actors also had to learn regarding it.

The cast worked with a naval instructor who taught them how to hold their breath underwater and who has collaborated with major world figures.

“We managed to hold our breath for a long time. I managed 5 minutes 23 seconds”said a proud Jack. “He almost beat Tom Cruise,” added the young actress. “He was very close… but Kate did it,” they both added.

And it is that Kate Winsletwho gives life to the warrior Ronal, broke the record for Cruise six minutes and managed to hold on for 7 minutes and 14 seconds.

Experiences like this made the work for the youngest of the cast unforgettable. “The experience was incredible. It was as amazing as the movie,” explained the actress, who assured that without a doubt the movie “will always have a very special place in my heart,” as well as the family that was created with the cast and production.
