The new chairman wants to turn the tide of AaB: Here is his recipe

New winds are blowing in the football club AaB, which on Thursday got a new board chairman, elected two new board members and replaced the post of sports director.

– But I feel that we have now put in place a strong board, which has its primary skills and competences in the field of football, emphasizes the outgoing chairman, Niels David Nielsen, who is now completely leaving the board of AaB A/S.

He is replaced in the chairman’s chair by Jan Peters from the German majority owner SSE22, while the business partner Ole Jan Kappmeier joins the board as planned and leaves the position of sporting director to the English James Gow, who until now has had the status of technical manager.

– For me, it’s not regarding the people, but regarding the joint project we’re working on. We want to develop the club both sportingly and financially in cooperation with the local investors, the shareholders and the fans, says Jan Peters, who experiences great cohesion in the project.

In the first instance, AaB must try to get a foothold in the Superliga once more, even though in terms of budget they lag far behind many of the clubs they would like to compare themselves to.

– We have some challenging months ahead of us, acknowledges the new AaB chairman, who, however, denies that he is in any way anxious.
