Even a journalist is part of the administrative body of the boyacense steel company, in this new stage in which the company is once more owned by national businessmen.
In an extraordinary general assembly, held on January 28, the new board of directors of Acerías Paz del Río was unanimously elected.
“This is the first time in more than a decade and a half that all the board members are Colombian. The board of directors represents the business values that promote corporate governance and will provide a comprehensive vision to the company”, said the new owners of the steel company.
As of this moment, the board of directors of Acerías Paz del Río is made up as follows:
* Omar González Pardo (chairman of the board of directors). Master of Science in International Logistics from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is currently the president of Trinity Capital SAS, president of the board of directors of CI Carbones y Coques de Colombia (Coquecol) and Grupo Heroica, among others.
* Leonor Montoya Álvarez, Master in Economics from the University of New Orleans with extensive experience in the public sector, among others, as General Director of Public Credit, Deputy Minister of Finance and Public Credit, Director of the Guarantee Fund for Financial Institutions, Technical Deputy Manager of the Bank of the Republic and president of the Bank of Colombia.
* Rafael Santos Calderón, a journalist from the University of Kansas with studies at Stanford University and an honorary doctorate from the Central University. For several years he worked at the newspaper El Tiempo, Casa Editorial El Tiempo, was an independent director of Cemex, Latam Holdings, SA and rector of the Central University.
* Héctor Ulloa Jiménez, specialist in Finance from Universidad de los Andes, with studies in Valuation and Negotiation of derivative financial products from Harvard University. He currently serves as president of Structure SAS Investment Banking.
He has extensive experience in project structuring and financing, and in the academic sector.
* Jairo Burgos de la Espriella, Master of Science in Management. Arthur D. Little School of Management, Master in Public Administration from Harvard University. He served as Vice President of Human Management of the Bancolombia Group, is the founder and CEO of the Talent & Talent Company, has been a member of the board of directors of companies, including CNV Construcciones, Banco Mundo Mujer, Banco Agrario de Colombia, Avianca Holdings, SA Protection
