The NBA announces the dates of the pre-draft events: ask for the program

The Great League has just announced the dates of the next events related to the 2023 NBA Draft. Explanations to come below.

The end of the season is approaching and with it, the challenges of the different teams. So many are still in the running for the Playoffs and more so, others are turning to other prestigious prizes. This year, the reward for the lamest team in the League is a 2m21 Frenchman: Victor Wembanyama. But before the Draft, other steps are to come.

MAY 13 AND 14: THE NBA G LEAGUE ELITE CAMP

This is the first stop for youngsters in Chicago. During this 48-hour event, NBA Draft registrants will have to show off their skills in front of scouts, coaches and NBA and G League front offices. The young shooters will play several matches in 5v5, and will also compete in strength and agility trials. A certain number of them will be selected for the second stage: the Draft Combine.

MAY 15 AND MAY 21: THE COMBINED DRAFT

Over a period of one week, the Draft Combine takes place one month before the NBA Draft. It is an important step for these young players. During the Combine, they are measured (height and weight) and must pass medical tests as well as interviews with members of NBA franchises. Just like the Elite Camp, they must also compete once morest each other, physical and shooting tests.

16 MAI : DRAFT LOTTERY

While the young people will whip at the Combine, the NBA leaders will be pulling their hair out. The Draft Lottery allows you to set a clear hierarchy of each team’s running order on D-Day. Each team’s odds of having the first draft pick depend on the number of ping pong balls obtained using their abysmal record, but also the cold envelope of David Stern. Within minutes, a team’s efforts can be wiped out. It is on this day – May 16, 2023 – that we will know where the French phenomenon Victor Wembanyama will begin his NBA career.
