The Ministry of Culture of the Government of Mexico, through the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH), informs the general public that the Anthropology National Museum, in Mexico City, and the Regional Museum of History from Colima will remain closed as of this Tuesday, January 18 and until further notice; the same as the Archaeological Zone of Tlatelolco, also in Mexico City,” it was reported in a statement.
This is the third time so far in the pandemic that the country’s most important museum has closed. After its reopening in November 2020, the venue was forced to close its doors due to the second wave of the epidemic, so it returned until March 2021.
To avoid contagion of COVID-19 and safeguard the health of staff and visitors, the Templo Mayor, the Nacional de las Culturas del Mundo and El Carmen museums will also remain closed.
