According to Saulius Mocevičius, deputy director of NŽT, the service will record how many residents come to consult with NŽT specialists every Tuesday.
“We will watch the reactions, the flow of people. If there was a need to adjust that live service with some other sample, if there was such a need, we would automatically think regarding the need to adjust the intensity of the live service”, said S. Mocevičius at the Seimas Environmental Protection Committee on Wednesday.
“We will see what the demand for that flow is. If there is a greater demand, we will see queues at the doors of our departments, we will have to review that change in intensity,” he said.
As of this year, following the amendments to the Land Law came into force and the state land was entrusted to municipalities, instead of 50 territorial NŽT divisions, five larger districts of the institution remained.
Starting from April 2, specialists from the National Health Service will come to the 46 former units every Tuesday to serve the residents live.
According to Monika Juodvalkė, the Deputy Minister of the Environment, it was decided to renew the consultation following receiving complaints that only NŽT consultations by phone or e-mail are not enough.
According to the NŽT representative, specialists from all fields will participate in the weekly consultations.
“There will be specialists in the field of land management administration, specialists in the field of cadastre, trustees’ supervision, and others. In reality, there will not be a single topic that will not be covered during the consultation”, said S. Mocevičius.
He agreed that people need a transition period when they no longer have the opportunity to meet with service specialists on a daily basis, but emphasized that the abolition of territorial units should improve the quality of NHT consultations.
“In 50 territorial departments, each employee had to know 50 administrative services, terms, and be able to give advice before the transformation (…). In practice, there was a lot of criticism for this amount of work, because the employee cannot manage such amount of information well, and then uneven practices and inaccurate counseling begin,” said S. Mocevičius.
The NŽT announced at the end of March that the employees of the service will provide general information on issues of the service’s competence to interested parties who have come to the former units, and will register documents.
After the amendments to the Land Law came into effect this year, on February 1, the management of state land was finally transferred to the country’s municipalities.
