The National Labor Council, where employers and unions sit, has issued a negative opinion regarding Minister Dermagne’s draft bill to put unemployed and mined workers who have been inactive for at least two years back to work. Employer and trade union organizations come together to reject the text, but on the basis of different arguments. It’s only half a surprise. But still. The draft bill from the Federal Minister of Employment, Pierre-Yves Dermagne (PS), for “the establishment of support territories for long-term job seekers”, has come under the scrutiny of the Council National Labor Council (CNT). And it was rejected by both employers and unions. For different but equally numerous reasons on both sides.

Finally, the unions do not hide it: within the same company, certain tasks hitherto entrusted to workers on permanent contracts might “slide” towards these “activated” job seekers under precarious status, thus illustrating the formula which says that bad jobs drive out good ones.

The Dermagne cabinet took note of this double rejection coming from the CNT but did not wish to react before having analyzed the text. Continuation and, perhaps, end in the coming days, therefore.
