A total of twenty three projects of research in the areas of health, environment, climate change, agroforestry, agricultural production, nutrition, scientific and technological research, economy and tourism, as a contribution to the comprehensive development of the Merida entity, have received almost a million dollars from the national government in the first half of 2024reported through a press release the vice president for the area of Health, Science, Technology and Education, Gabriela Jiménez and the governor of Mérida, Jehyson Guzmán.
The information was provided by official spokespersons during the ceremony to deliver technological equipment to the Kléber Ramírez Territorial Polytechnic University and the University of Los Andes, held on Friday, July 19, 2024, without specifying in said press release, the list of equipment, or in the case of ULA, to which departments such important supplies would be delivered.
Jiménez, who supervised the progress of the projects, said that they are part of the research agenda developed by the national government aimed at the “talent reserve, and the digital transformation of the country” highlighting the advances for the development of free software to modernize the country, born in Mérida.
