The Central Bank has reduced interest rates, meaning it is now cheaper to finance purchases. This also affects Cuota Simple, a program that allows you to pay in fixed installments. Previously, the national government program had a high rate, but now it has decreased, making it more attractive to consumers.

Before this modification, the rate associated with Cuota Simple was considerably high, reaching 93.5%. However, it has now been adjusted downwards, standing at 68%. This adjustment was enabled by decree in the Official Gazette and not only seeks to stimulate consumption, but also alleviate the financial burden of citizens at a crucial time for the national economy.

Along these same lines, two new items have been incorporated into the program, including imported footwear and school bookstore items. This expansion responds to the need to adapt to changing market demands and guarantee a diversified offer that meets consumer needs.

Cuota Simple is a program that allows you to pay for your purchases in 3 or 6 fixed installments each month. In addition, the option of increasing the installment payment limit on credit cards is being considered, which would offer more flexibility to users. As for the future of the program, it is intended to continue after May 31, which is the deadline for the first stage. However, a final decision has not yet been made in this regard.

Consumption does not rebound

In both January and February, year-on-year drops in mass consumption sales of 28.4% and 25.5% were recorded respectively. Although this program began on February 1, the sales market, which has continued to decline since Javier Milei assumed the Presidency of the Nation on December 10, has not rebounded.

How does the Simple Quota system work?

Purchases can be made both in physical stores and online, using bank credit cards. The businesses participating in the program will be identified with the Simple Fee logo and it is believed that it will last until May 31.

The products included are: appliances such as air conditioners, washing machines, stoves and refrigerators; clothing for men, women and children; footwear and leather goods, which includes both sports and dress shoes, as well as wallets and bags; educational services, such as language courses, computer courses, sports and cultural activities; glasses and contact lenses purchased at optical stores, as long as they do not exceed $97,000; medical equipment, including respiratory therapy equipment, wheelchairs and orthopedic items.
