The National Council calms the solar ardor of the senators

The enthusiasm with which senators had supported the future production of renewable energy in Switzerland was toned down by the National Council. In this back and forth of which federal policy has the secret, the representatives of the people were indeed called upon to decide on the indirect counter-project to the initiative of the glaciers as reinterpreted by the Council of States. To tell the truth, the central goal of the initiative, namely the objective of “net zero emissions” by 2050, is no longer subject to debate. The Chamber of Cantons, on September 15, added a series of measures marking the interest in future solar installations at altitude as well as the raising of the Grimsel hydraulic dam. It is this momentum that the National Council has tempered.
