The National Anthem was sung for the 16th time in Lithuania and the world – in Trakai they sang under water | Culture

The national anthem, as every year, is sung at 9 p.m.

This year, the “National Anthem” was sung by all the participants and guests at the closing concert of the centenary Song Festival “That the green is green” in Vingios Park in Vilnius. Here, the national anthem was sung by President Gitanas Nausėda with the first lady Diana Nausėdiene among the participants of the celebration.

Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė, Speaker of the Seimas Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, outgoing presidents Valdas Adamkus and Dalia Grybauskaitė, Speaker of the Supreme Council-Restorative Seimas Vytautas Landsbergis, Vilnius City Mayor Valdas Benkunskas also sang it in Vingis Park.

In Vilnius, the anthem was also sung in Vincos Kudirka Square, in Kaunas – near Kaunas Castle, in Klaipėda – in Theater Square, in Šiauliai – in Chaim Frenkel’s villa park. The “National Anthem” was also sung in many other cities and towns of Lithuania.

A crowd of people sang the national anthem in Palanga.

At that time, in Trakai, the anthem sounded underwater – at the bottom of Lake Galvė.

On July 6 of last year, the “National Anthem” was sung in Vilnius, commemorating the 770th anniversary of the coronation of Mindaugas, following a solemn triumphal procession from the Dawn Gate to the Palace of the Lords, in which thousands of Vilnius residents and guests of the city participated.

The coronation of Mindaugas as the king of Lithuania on July 6, 1253 is celebrated on State Day.

This day was declared a national holiday in 1990, following Lithuania regained its independence.

The “National Anthem” has been sung in Lithuania and the world since 2009.
