What took a long time is now being done bravely: In the spring of 2016, five musician friends from the Essen hardcore and metal scene got together narrator Establish. Over the next period they played numerous concerts and festivals, merged into a quartet and released various singles. The preview alone of their now-released first album has been played millions of times. Signs are correspondingly good “Knowledge”you can easily confirm previous positive reviews.

You can hear hardcore and metalcore melodies with a modern twist that love to dive into electronic territory – check out and listen to the short opener “Breach” which uses buttery soft clear vocals and Internet aesthetics. “Inferno” flows seamlessly and sums up “The Narrator”‘s familiar and entertaining approach. The quartet fights valiantly, but at the climax they find a catchy chorus that sings like an anthem while also being futuristic. Brutal Brees triggered a brutal collapse – and it was a pleasant surprise.

Although the Essenes were devoted to typical metalcore music, they liked to play with the formula. This is evident on the breathtaking song “Die Down,” whose breezy uptempo gallop has a military dimension but ultimately leads to some compelling moments. Essen colleague Elwood Stray’s “No Answer” is a maniacal swipe, full of venom and petulance, but also hints at something like the breathless ” The conciliatory tone of The Witch. Burger Half I’m Involved – The added hardcore focus is really good for everyone involved. If you want something more classic again, “Devastator” is the right choice – airy and hearty, but also highly melodic when it counts.

This album is less than half an hour and time flies by so fast. Ultimately, this should remain the only minor flaw, as what the narrator achieves here is definitely worth listening to. Their releases of metalcore and melodic hardcore have familiar characteristics but strive for a delightfully independent approach. You can tell that nothing on “Lore” was rushed and the sound was allowed to develop over the years. Genre fans especially need to see this first film.
