The mystery of the sheep that go around in circles could be solved

Since the beginning of November, the round of sheep has not ceased to be talked regarding. Indeed, these amazing images of hundreds of sheep turning in circles without interruption and in a circle close to perfection have traveled the world.

When the farmer who owned the sheepfold, the only one affected by the phenomenon, realized it, the media quickly took over the case, without being able to find the cause of this strange round.

Some vets had mentioned the possibility of a bacterial infection called listeriosis causing the animals to run in circles. While the sheep make their rounds, the bacteria causes inflammation in the brain and dies a few days later.

Not long ago, a professor specializing in agriculture at a university in the United Kingdom put forward a new theory. Indeed, according to Matt Bell, the sheep might be under the influence of stress following too long confinement in a pen too narrow for the herd.

The sheep thus develop a stereotyped behavior that ends up being followed by others, gradually enlarging the strange animal circle.
